Choosing the right form of laundry detergents

Independent testing experts have extensively tested the UK’s best-selling laundry detergents and concluded that  Ariel detergents remove a range of common stains better than any of the products tested. In fact, of 435 stains tested, Ariel wins on 244, is equal on 184 and loses on only 7.

Liquid Tabs

Liquid tabs are easy and convenient to use. They don’t contain oxygen bleach and are great for washing coloured loads. Liquid tabs also contain a particular effective surfactant system great for greasy stain removal. Liquid tabs should be placed on the bottom of the drum with the wash load on top.


Liquids dissolve particularly quickly. They are great for pre-treating directly onto stains, especially useful for those most difficult to remove. They do not contain oxygen bleach and are ideal for coloured wash loads. They also contain a very effective surfactant system which is great for greasy stain removal.


Powders can be dosed flexibly. Ariel powder should be dosed directly into the washing machine dispenser drawer.


Easy and convenient to use. Ariel tablets have been developed to get to work from the start of the wash. They can be used in either the drawer or the drum. If you want to put them in the drum, you should place them in the bottom, at the back with the clothes on top.

Non Biological Detergents

Many people concerned about sensitive skin prefer to use Non Biological detergent such as Ariel Sensitive Non Biological as they don’t contain enzymes.
